In order to ensure that that curriculum is developmentally appropriate for the students, I used Michigan GLECââ¬â¢s. Additionally, each lesson can be adjusted to accommodate every student. The Tragedy Of Medea And Jason - 1360 Words
Throughout the entirety of the play, Medea, there are multiple victims of other peopleââ¬â¢s actions as well as their own. This raises the question: out of all the people who suffer in this classic play, ultimately, who is the tragic figure? Although many people have to suffer slow, painful deaths in the play, the answer is narrowed down to the two main survivors: Medea and Jason. While Jason is the victim of his children getting murdered by Medea, the tragic figure still remains Medea due to how she is the one who suffers the most throughout the play because of Jason and societal expectations. Right from the start, on the first spoken line of the play, the portrayed victim is already Medea. The play starts off with the Nurse reciting aâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦To make things worse, if a woman tries to leave the husband, ââ¬Å"then she loses her virtuous reputation.â⬠Meanwhile, a man can change his mind whenever he wants to and do as he pleases. In the first conversation the reader sees between Medea and Jason, it is clear that Jason is not suffering from the situation at all and even goes to call Medea an idiot for speaking baldy of the king and his daughter, whom he is marrying. Jason claims that the reason he left Medea for the Kingââ¬â¢s daughter is because he is looking out for the best interest of Medea and their children. He even goes on to tell her, ââ¬Å"However much you hate me, I could never wish you any harm.â⬠Although his justification seems like a good excuse and a smart plan, it does not seem genuine seeing as to how quick he dismisses her and does not want to stick up for her by talking to the Creon about letting her stay and not exiling her and theirShow MoreRelatedThe Tragedy Of Jason And Medea1933 Words à |à 8 PagesThe Tragedy of Jason and Medea The Greek myth of Jason and Medea is complex and changing. As new international businesses have developed rapidly over the world, international trading has occurred frequently. Moreover, the importance of cross-cultural leadership has been come out an enormous issue in most countries as well. However, because difficulty of language and cultural differences, senior managers who are overseas for work have some problems with adopting new culture and working with other managers. Therefore, international businesses need a program which could support them to succeed their task. This report will identity two nations from clusters and two dimensions, identity the problems, barriers and advice and gives 3 solutions and recommendations. 2. Definition Learning leadership would be the most important skill for cross-cultural relationship. House at al (2002, p5 in Liddell, 2005, p5) defines leadership as ââ¬Å"the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization of which they are members. â⬠Learning leadership skill encourages the international businesses to achieve their goals. . Clusters and dimensions The GLOBE project classifies 61 countries into 10 clusters. Two different countries: Australia, Korea: has been chosen from project GLOBEââ¬â¢s clusters to compare because two nations use different language and have different culture. According to Javidan (2005, p62), there are the nine GLOBE cultural dimensions: power distance, in-group collectivism, institutional collectivism, uncertainty avoidance, future orientation, gender egalitarianism, assertiveness, humane orientation, and performance orientation. In ââ¬â group collectivism and uncertainty avoidance have been chosen to discuss between France and China. This is because according to Javidan et al (2005, p62) depicts a summary comparison of south Asian and Nordic European Culture clusters, it has been seen clearly there are enormous differences between two nations. 4. Challenges facing manager Robbins, Bergman and Stagg (1997, p569) define a senior manager as appointed person that have power with acceptable reason and have ability to effect on other peopleââ¬â¢s thinking and behaviors. Javidan et al (2005 p. 9) reports that the role of a senior manager is important to reduce losses of international company. Furthermore, to avoid the losses depends on how well a senior manager understands international transfer of knowledge. Therefore, we need to identify issues, problems and advice between China and France in the two dimensions. 4-1 In-group collectivism Managers and staff tend to be affected by their own culture. It has s een clearly from the figure2 (javidan et al, 2005, p64), two nations, China and France have opposite direction in the dimension of in-group collectivism. Javidan et al ( 2005, p66) illustrates managers who have a high level of in-group collectivist are willing to make close relationship with people in group and tend to avoid a relationship with members who are not part of them. As a result, staffs in China are likely to avoid outsiders while managers in France are trying to make a relationship with the staffs that would cause miscommunications between them. 4-2 Uncertainty avoidance According to the table3 (javidan et al, 2005, p62), China has a low score and France has high scores in the uncertainty avoidance which refers how well people try to orderliness, and are organized. Javidan researched (2005,p68) that a tendency to spend more time and take a lot of attempt on preparing their project is appeared in Franceââ¬â¢s high uncertainty avoidance cultural. On the other hand, managers in china have a tendency to spend more time during the project and when they find problems, they make a quick decision to change and change to a new idea. In other word, managers with high uncertainty avoidances cultural could make well-planned project and prepare and organize well the project. 5. Analysis and solution As discussed above, there are many problems of international transferring. Javidan (2005, p74) points out that difference of goals between local staff and transferred manager, cultural varies and mismanagement of relationship between managers and staff that comes from a lack of communication with two parties could cause a failure of international trading. He suggests that(2005,p74)both parties need to show clearly their common goals to succeed the transferring, to avoid conflict they need to discuss potential cultural differences each other and proper information for managers to manage relationship between local staffs and senior managers is needed in the new location. 6. Conclusion Cross cultural leadership skill is regard as important knowledge to succeed international transferring, as a new international publishing business has been formed between a European and an Asia. Lack of cross cultural knowledge could lead to a failure international transferring and eventually could result in crucially damaging in the business. Therefore, indentify common goals, understanding culture differences and varies and well- done a management of relationship between local staff and transferred managers are the way in which new international business would succeed and achieve their goals. . Recommendations â⬠¢The international business companies should make a plan to defines common goals and success criteria between local staffs and transferring staff â⬠¢Managers and staffs should discuss and identify cultural differences and cultural varies to find solutions together â⬠¢The international business companies should provide social activities to avoid misman agement of the relationship between managers and staffs

Marketing Strategy and Plan Different Types
Question: Discuss about the Marketing Strategy and Plan Different Types. Answer: Introduction: Markets usually consist of different types of buyers and their demands (Sharma and Lambert 2013). Market segmentation is thus needed to be structured to segregate the target market. The company is introducing three new flavours of Ice Cream in Singapore market. Based on the target customers, the market segmentation of Ben Jerry is presented further: Ben Jerry Company has launched the three new flavours of the Ice Creams that are mainly focusing on the target group of customers who are much health conscious. The flavours contain low fat and low sugar. Therefore, the people from all age group can purchase these Ice Creams. The company is focusing on targeting the customers who belong to the high income group. The Ice Cream flavours include different organic ingredients with proper healthy diets. Hence, the price of these ice creams is quite high. People from high income group tend to spend more money on such luxurious desserts. Hence, the high income group would be preferable for selecting the target customers. Behavioural These new flavoured Ice Creams will be distributed among the people who consume the organic and healthier diet in their daily lives. The flavours are added by concentrating on the demands of natural and organic ingredients. People prefer the low fat and low sugar with proportionate natural and organic food ingredients. Therefore, the three flavours of Ice Cream are prepared by keeping focus on such demands. Moreover, the company is also focusing on the segmentation of the people by ensuring the education level. The people who have the knowledge about the importance of healthy diet would prefer these flavours more. Ben Jerry is thus targeting those customers who are better educated and understand the value of the healthy ingredients. 7ps of Marketing Mix Marketing is the evolving discipline followed by the business companies to strengthen the competitive position. The 7Ps of Marketing Mix ensures the different sections that are to be focused during the launch of new products (Luo, Roach and Jiratchot 2016). Ben Jerry even requires concentrating on such sections while opening three outlets in the prime location of Singapore market. The product is the basic component of a marketing mix strategy (Khan 2014). Ben Jerry is going to open three outlets of different flavoured Ice Creams. The people in the Singapore prefer the healthy food ingredients mostly. These flavours are thus made by adding the natural and organic food ingredients with low fat and low sugar. The product is launched for the people who are willing to spend the money on such Ice Cream products with healthy ingredients. Selection of the proper place is necessary for each of the business companies. It is necessary to select a place where the customers are available (Durkin Howcroft and Fairless 2016). Therefore, the Ice Cream product will be launched in the prime location of Singapore. In this location, the majority of the supermarkets, restaurant chains and shopping markets are available where the customers spend their quality time. Moreover, these flavoured Ice Creams will be available in the amusement parks and other ice parlours as well. Selection of the justified pricing structure is essential for launching a new product (Trainor, Krush and Agnihotri 2013). Ben Jerry has set the target group with a high income rate. The target customers are the people who can spend the justified amount on consuming such low fat and low sugar Ice Creams. The price of the Ice Cream is quite expensive since it includes more investments to prepare the flavoured desserts by adding healthy ingredients. The promotional activity is the major platform to draw the attention for the customers and make them aware of the newly launched products (Orozco 2016). In order to launch the new flavoured Ice Creams, Ben Jerry needs to take several promotional strategies. The visual presentation at the supermarket area would be much preferable to make people aware of the health approaches. Broadcasting through the television, internet sites, pamphlets, and hoardings are also quite effective promotional strategies. The company may offer discounts for first few customers. Merger with the restaurant chain would be preferable for the company to promote the new products among the people. People or the target groups are the major concern for a marketing plan Romeo, J.R. and (Dodds 2015). Ben Jerry has decided to offer the flavoured Ice Cream with low fat and low sugar. Hence, people who are much health conscious and from different age group can opt for such desserts. On the other hand, the mixture of the healthy ingredients costs much due to which the company even needs to keep the price higher. Therefore, the people from the high income rate are supposedly the major target customers for the products launched by Ben Jerry. The consumers even much concerned about the delivery services of the products. While launching the new products, it is necessary to keep focus on the proper process of distributing the products (Morrison and Humlen 2015). The supermarket area, the amusement parks, or the shopping areas are the most preferable places where the people can visit Ice Cream Parlours and select their Ice Cream Flavours. The Ice Cream scoops will be used to distribute the products to the customers. The proper presentation of the Ice Cream is needed to be attractive enough to the customers. Physical Evidence Almost each of the products signifies the particular physical evidence. It generally determines the significance of the products that will benefit the customers. The product launch process has to keep the focus on such concerns more specifically. However, Ben Jerry has introduced the three new flavoured Ice Creams that are one the most preferable desserts for people. While preparing the Ice Cream flavours, the company has focused on the concerns of health conscious people in Singapore. The ingredients are thus selected accordingly. These three flavours of Ice Cream contain low sugar and low fat, which are quite healthy for the people who are much conscious about their health. The people who consume the natural and organic foods can also taste these Ice Creams. The Ice Cream producers would give the assurance of a healthy diet. Hence, while launching the new products in the market, it is necessary to concentrate on these concerns. The above marketing mix analysis is providing the in-depth ideas about the method of achieving competitive advantage. The maintenance of these concerns would be preferable to strengthen the competitive position in a market. Moreover, it will be helpful enough in initiating the future sustainability plan as well. Competitive Advantage It is necessary for the company to keep the focus on the unique strategy implementation procedure. Ben Jerry requires concentrating on the effective promotional process that will generate more supports from the target customers. Many people avoid Ice Cream products due to high fat and high calories. However, these flavours are completely fat free and sugar free. The healthier approaches are thus needed to be informed to the people. Broadcasting the products through the events and advertisement media would be beneficial enough to convey the messages to the customers. Accordingly, the company would be able to achieve the competitive advantage. References Durkin, M., Howcroft, B. and Fairless, C., 2016. Elizabethan Era Social Classes Essay Example
Elizabethan Era Social Classes Paper Elizabethan Family Life Family life during the Elizabethan period was largely determined by what class the family was in. As in how rich the family was. But the main exception to this was religion. It didnt matter whether the family was wealthy, poor, young or old, each family was expected to attend a protestant church service every Sunday. Each family member also wore different clothes. A wealthy family led a completely different life to one of a poor family and men led very different lives to women. The men had quite a lot of control over the lives of the women in the family during the Elizabethan times. The women were expected to always be ready to do whatever the men told them to do and were supposed to obey the men in all aspects of their life. In their religion, disobedience was seen as a crime or wrongdoing. The whole purpose for women to get married was to Increase the position and wealth of her own family and then to produce children. Love was not really considered as a reason to get married back then but may come In the marriage. Male children were preferred back In those times. It was also the responsibility of the women to keep their family healthy by producing medicines from their available herbs. The Elizabethan men led a life of power, completely opposite to the women and much more favorable. The men made all the decisions and the women were expected to obey them. The men supported the family by going to work and they had a wide variety of occupations. The men were expected to Improve the positions of family members too by working with wealthier people and families than their own and patronizing with them. Boys had an education and went to school for 6 days a week. This meant they were literate, unlike the girls. When tobacco was introduced, smoking was very popular among men. The lives of the children during the Elizabethan times wasnt too different from how it is today. The children of the family had to serve and obey the adults of the family, including women. They were raised to obey and respect their parents. Children were very precious during the Elizabethan period because infant mortality was high. Just like the 21st century, children had toys to play with for entertainment. Some of those toys Included dolls, toy soldiers, hobbyhorses and many others. But unlike the Elizabethan times, children now have PCs and play stations to entertain themselves. Children were split in classes like the adults. The more high-class children were more punished more severely for bad behavior than the lower class children. The homes back in the Elizabethan period depended on how rich the family was. What the family did in and outside of the home was also determined by what time of day it was. Most of the Elizabethan houses were half built out of timber with black ND white styles The interiors had separate rooms and usually levels. The walls were made of wattle, which were daubed with mortar and later had whitewash applied to it. For an upper or middle class family, windows were constructed from glass, like today, but if the family was lower class then windows became wooden shutters. The houses had thatched roofs made of straw or reeds. Rushes were used to cover the floor for most families but marble or slate was used only for the very wealthy families. The chimneys were very high and made of stone. The houses didnt have running water so it had to be obtained through water pumps, owing this caused many people to get typhoid. Heat was produced by fires and lighting from candles and torches. Bubonic plague was spread easily as the thatched roofs made good homes for rats and mice (from which the disease was spread). The Elizabethan home was where families were able to find comfort. Education during the Elizabethan times was mainly for the boys of the upper and middle classes and girls of the upper class. Girls were usually not allowed in schools. The simplest form of education started at what was called a Petty School. This school was conducted for boys from 5 7 years of age. This type of school wasnt actually held in a school building but the teachers house. These petty schools ran for only a small fee and were conducted by a local and well- educated housewife. Reading and writing English and lessons about behavior were taught at these schools, as they were considered to be the fundamentals of education and must be taught early in childhood. From 7 14 years of age, boys not in the upper class would attend a grammar school. They were taught by ushers (senior students at grammar school) from 7 10 years of GE. They learnt slightly more advanced English writing and speaking skills and basic Latin. When the boys turned 10 they left their ushers to be taught by masters in more Latin, literature, Greek study, religious education and simple math. After grammar school, the boys left for university at an early age of 14. People ate different things in the Elizabethan period depending on their wealth and social status. During those times, meat was thought to be a luxury enjoyed by the rich. The poor would not have had much food varieties but the rich had plenty to choose from! Old eat are lamb, beef, mutton, bacon, fish, carrot, leeks and fruits. Many different kinds of food were introduced in the Elizabethan period, such as tomatoes, kidney beans and potatoes. Tutors also enjoyed eating dessert, obviously. They ate pastries, tarts, cakes, custard and cream. The food in those times werent actually too different compared to what we eat now. Family was very important back then and still is. Although life as a family was very strict and standardized, it was also vital to have close bonds as a family and to have good respect and obedience towards each other.

THE CASE STUDY The Case of 70 years old Mrs. Sparza, is classic case of a competent patientââ¬â¢s legal right in giving informed consent and advance directives. Informed consent refers to legal rules that prescribe behaviors for physicians in their interactions with patients based on the ethical doctrine rooted in the value of autonomy that facilitates patients right to self-determination. It is an interpersonal process whereby practitioners interact with patients to select an appropriate course of action. Informed consent means that tests, treatments and medications have been explained to the person, as well as outcomes, possible complications and alternative procedures before the treatment and this consent is documented. There is no second opinion on the fact that only a competent individual can give an informed consent. But the concept of competence is broad with moral, medical and legal implications. The case of Nancy Curzon (Suzanne, 2004) throws more light on the legal implications of most medical decisions. Nancy Curzon was a young woman involved in a car crash after which she remained in a persistent vegetative state in U. S. A. Inspite of a three year legal battle of her family members to have her feeding tube removed to let her die, The Supreme court ruled that ââ¬Ëa state requires a ââ¬ËClear and Convincing evidenceââ¬â¢ of the patientââ¬â¢s wishes for withdrawal of life-support. This gave rise to the legislations, which encourage people to prepare advance directives in which they indicate their wishes concerning the treatment and care to be provided if they become incapacitated. Advance directivesââ¬â¢ are legal documents that specify a patientââ¬â¢s wishes before hospitalization and provide the necessary information for tough decision-making situations. The Advance directive is usually composed of a Living will. A Living will is a medical directive issued by an individual with sound mind. This documents treatment preferences and provides instructions of care. This is often accompanied by a ââ¬ËProxy directiveââ¬â¢. Proxy directive is the appointment and authorization of another individual to make medical directives on behalf of the person who created an advanced directive when he/she is no longer able to speak for himself/herself. This is known as Health Care Power of Attorney or ââ¬ËDurable Power of Attorneyââ¬â¢. The doctors and health care unit in this case are legally liable because; They have forced patient to give consent to be operated on both her eyes against her wishes and the doctors should have terminated her life as per the advance directive and durable power of attorney. It is worthy to mention that euthanasia and physician assisted death are permissible under law in the state of Oregon. Such medical disagreements turned legal complaints lead to long medical litigations. REFERENCE Ann J. The Lust for Blood Movie Review Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
The Lust for Blood - Movie Review Example The lust for blood from an aggrieved criminal who goes on a killing spree is the main theme behind the episode that will be reviewed in this essay. The producerââ¬â¢s concept of depicting two men that have been bludgeoned to death in the beginning of the film is the epitome of brutality as a result of blood lust. The murder took place near a hospital one evening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The BAU agents, Hotch, Rossi, Prentiss and Reid are called in to solve the case. The two dead bodies had been placed in such a way that showed the perpetrator (s) was remorseful about the act. For the perpetrator to have been able to kill the two physically strong men, he or she must have been physically strong as well. The unsub must have been somebody who was good at fighting. The victims found beaten in the same manner that the perpetrator had bludgeoned the first two men shows that it is the same person who has been committing these murders. The manner that these subsequent deaths have be en executed shows that he is no longer remorseful for the killings. There is a very high probability that the perpetrator will strike again. Viewers are left in suspense, wondering when and where he will strike next. Analytically, the murders are being executed by someone who enjoys killing people. He is killing them very precisely and easily. The subsequent victims are found to have been beaten in a very organized and thorough way, indicating that the criminal is knowledgeable about fights. He must be a fighter or boxer because of the nature of execution of the deaths. The BAU ventures into the boxing and fighting scene all over Philadelphia so as to find the connection to the string of deaths. The search for the killer leads the BAU team to venture more and more into the boxing scene so as to find out who has been executing these deaths near the hospital. This was a clever move because the killer must have been a boxer. Later on in the program, it emerges that the killer is a prof essionally trained boxer, Jimmy who is killing people because of his presumed blood lust. Hotchââ¬â¢s encounter with a lady named Beth shows that he is finally interested in love again for the first time since his wife Haley died. He has been holding on to the death of his wife and has finally decided to let go of the past and move on. In regard to this, he is quoted saying, ââ¬Å"Some of us think holding on makes us strong but sometimes its letting goâ⬠. This can be said to be after he has finally made the resolution to move on with his life and stop mourning the death of his wife. The case that the team was working on was taking too long but the change in direction of the movie makes it more interesting when Hotch meets this girl Beth and finally considers to move on. The introduction of Beth into the scene is a great strategy because the suspense of wanting to know whether Hotchââ¬â¢s new love will fail or succeed keeps viewers glued to the screen. The conversation be tween Hotch and Rossi below shows that Hotch is interested in Beth ââ¬Å"Rossi:à (discussing Beth with Hotch)à Is she cute? Hotchner: Yes, she is, but I need to be focused on my training. I don't need to be distracted. Rossi: Yes, you should be. Distracted is good. What's her name? Hotchner: Beth. Rossi: I like it. And you know what they say about riding a bicycle. Hotchner: Who's getting a bicycle?

Gambino then secretly conspired against another leader, Genovese, who was detained, and handed a 15-year imprisonment. At this time, the Gambino family emerged as a significant gang family within New York. Currently, the gang is highly controlled, with three key members as the heads. Reconstruction for Assigned Reading - Essay Example The beauty of this partnership is that private investors by virtue of shouldering upfront costs have a powerful influence in terms of incentives to ensure timely completion of projects. The overriding factor of the PPPââ¬â¢s is that they have a customer service ethic that government operated roadways lack. These PPPââ¬â¢s enable investors to profit primarily toll revenue, though not highly popular, is better than higher taxes and more government spending. The toll-funded roads are a noble idea since they will primarily regulate congestion on the roads. By increasing the toll during peak hours and decreasing it during off ââ¬â peak hours, motorists will save much time since they will not be stuck in traffic. This will in turn reduce stress among motorist and save fuel. This would result in an improved economy. Further, the environment will not be polluted since auto emissions are higher in heavy traffic and significantly lower when traffic eases. Although PPPââ¬â¢s are not new in America, they remain an under-used engine for transportation infrastructure investments. Greater public education about the economic and environmental benefits of PPPââ¬â¢s is needed while federal action is also needed to encourage states to employ the use of PPPââ¬â¢s in transportation

Generic strategy means basic kind of competitive strategy which holds across a number of business situations. Whereas competitive strategy is related with how a strategic business unit obtains competitive advantages in domain of its activities (Porter M. E). FIVE GENERIC COMPETITIVE STRATEGIES 3.1 Low-Cost Provider Strategy: A low cost strategy is that in which a company offers their products to the customers relatively at a low price. This strategy is usually adopted by any corporation, where the product has few or no competitive advantage. Moreover, it attracts the broad range of purchaser. Some companies using this strategy in order to earn low profits but incur high sales volumes. For instance, the Kmart uses the low-price strategy because it provides the goods to customers at low price (Arbuckle D. 2017). This strategy is not using by the Virgin Galactic. 3.2 Focused Low-Cost Strategy: The focused strategy is based on low cost and concentrates on narrow customer segment. It serves the customers in the niche market at a lower cost and lower price than the opponents. Most of the companies using this strategy to enjoy the high degree of buyers loyalty. This strategy is usually suited to the small business where the resources are limited and they only focus on the narrow market segment. In this narrow segment market, the suppliers have the less power of bargaining. For instance, Gap is a good example of it. (Arbuckle D. 2017) This focused strategy is not employing by the Virgin Galactic. 3.3 Best Cost Provider Strategy: The best cost provider strategy aims to provide buyers more value for the money by offering them updated products at a lower price than competitors. Moreover, it gives more emphasis on a minimal quality, service, features and performance of the product to the customers. This strategy works best in the market where the customers diversity make the product different and also sensitive regarding the value and cost of the product. For example, Amazon uses the best cost provider strategy and also uses by Toyota Company. This strategy is also not adopted by Virgin Galactic. 3.4 Broad Differentiation Strategy: The broad differentiation strategy distinguishes the firms product from their competitors with the qualities, which attract their customers with uniqueness of the product. The value added by the product uniqueness allows the firm to charge a premium price for it. This strategy is not suitable for small business but it is more useful for big corporations. For instance, Netflix uses the differentiation strategy. This firm offer to customers greater variety of movies and charge less price than rental stores by conducting its business worldwide over the internet and Starbucks is also using it (Edwards J. 2017). The differentiation strategy is not using by Virgin Galactic. 3.5 Focused Differentiation Strategy: This focused differentiation strategy concentrates on a narrow purchaser section by fulfilling the particular tastes and needs of niche members. It refers to the situation where a corporation selects the strategically differentiate itself from their competitors in a narrow market. This Strategy is using by the companies to promote the product with multifarious features, innovation, brand name and customers service in order to attract more customers towards them. Likewise, Virgin Galactic using this strategy because the target market is narrow and they are trying to serve its services to the niche market. The main focus of Virgin Galactic is to be more innovative and unique in space travelling. (Porter M. E.) The main reason for selecting this strategy is that it provides the better-quality services and good value to their customers in different ways. Virgin Galactic looking to be unique in the niche market along with some changes which are broadly valued by customers. The main emphasis of Virgin Galactic is on the safety of passengers in every aspect and also provides training to passengers about one week prior the flight. Virgin Galactic taking $25000 from public in advance who wants to fly during the first years of flights and wants to turn their dreams into realities. In addition to it, the motive of Virgin Galactic is to provide sub-orbital spaceflights to space tourists. The spaceship2 has double the crew and capacity to carry triple the passengers. However, Virgin Galactic has competitors but he always wants to serve the market first. The focused differentiation strategy has following benefits for Virgin Galactic Premium price for its product: This strategy allows Virgin Galactic to command a premium price for its product. Increased unit sales: A virgin Galactic sale has increase due to this strategy because near about 550 ticket holders in line who wants to fly with it. Brand loyalty: By offering better in flight amenities at a lower cost as compared to many domestic carriers Virgin is creating strong brand loyalty for itself and dollar value for its customers New plans: Therefore, due to strong bonding with customers Virgin Galactic plans to deliver payload low earth orbit of 100 kg to market under US$ 10,000,000 per mission. Research and Development: Virgin Galactic has strong capability in research and development. They use the modern technology for the development of their products. SWOT Analysis of Virgin Galactic SWOT: This is type of strategic tool like PESTLE and PORTER which can be used to determine the long term performance of company to make good strategic plan to overcome its weakness and to utilize opportunities in better way. As name of this tool reveals meaning of itself such as S is for strength and so on. S W International Brand Progressing in Research and development Emphasis on Safety parameters Employee Strength Brand Image Strong Planning by using reusable craft Less risky and More trustworthy Skilled workforce High industry growth rate Reasonable Price Costly Failing to protecting RFP for satellite business Overtaking by competitors Time consuming to accomplish their mission Brand portfolio Competitive market Bad craft structure Sustaining brand image Employing new and innovative ways of doing business First to market Growth rate and profitability Technology advancement Expanding global markets Lacking interest of people due to crash Government regulations Accessible to middle class people Lot of investment required O T 4.1 Strength Based on article, it is evident that company is on its success as slowly-2 it is progressing. Some of following are strength of company. International Brand: This Company have reputed image over the whole globe as this is operating different branches at different locations such as New Mexico, USA, Las Cruces. In the beginning they just have only one spaceport which is in Mexico but now they have made 2 or 3 other spaceports to other locations to make it convenient for their customers to enjoy service of them. Virgin Group which is parent company of it which has brand image from last number of years. As Virgin Group has different Product line, it offers variety of services to their customers such as virgin hotels, virgin media, virgin passenger flights under name of virgin Atlantic, virgin money and many more. So their parent company helps them to perpetuate their brand image at global level (essays writers, 2017). Progressing in Research and Development: This Company is going through research and development mode and getting progress. As initially they have made first space ship flight (SS1) which could accommodate only 3 person all together (1 pilot and 2 passenger). Now recently they have made another spaceship flight (SS2) which can accommodate 8 people all together (2 pilots and 6 passengers) (the verge, 2016). Emphasis on Safety Parameters: Safety is the main concern of their organization. They bother equally for the safety of both passenger as well as employees. They give one week training to passenger in advance and give training to employees as well (wixsite, 2017). Employee Strength: As employees are the key part of every business so their security is important concern for an industry which is well done by virgin galactic. Due to this employees are interested to work with this group. As without employees there is no business, so virgin galactic is lucky to have good employees (advisor gate, 2016). Brand Image: As Virgin Group is offering good and wide variety of services to their users so it has already branded and reputed image in market and people are used to their services and can rely on them (essays writers, 2017). Strong planning for saving money by using reusable craft: They have good strategic planning to build strong and compatible passenger craft which can be reused again to send them in space which can help them to save money that they can used to improve their services better. Less risky and Trustworthy: As it is already mentioned that safety is main concern of their company so less risk is involved. Their services are so trustworthy thats why notable celebrities (Angelina Jolie, Stephen Hawking, Tom Hanks and Prince Zulf Ali) have already booked with them to travel in space (review essays, 2017). Skilled workforce: As this industry requires more creativity which cannot be possible without the help of employees so it means that employees should be equipped with good skills and it has employed skilled person in their company which further helps them in gaining success (swotanalysis24, 2017). High Industry Growth Rate: This Company is growing at very fast pace as recently its growth rate jumps from 27% to 47% (advisor gate, 2016). Reasonable Prices: The Company should charge reasonable prices for their services over their competitors. Because this is the good way to attract more passenger and to maintain their interest. 4.2 Weaknesses Apart from having good points, this company has some negative points which hinder them from achieving success. Some of them are given below: Costly: No doubt this company is offering good services to their users but services are very costly as compare to its competitor. As XCOR Aerospace which is in great competition to it is offering high quality services at low price. As Virgin Galactic is taking $250,000 per person whereas XCOR is taking $95000 per person (advisor gate, 2017). Failing to protecting RFP for satellite business:- one of the weak point of their company is that they are not good at planning and do not have strong vision as recently they were fail to set up RFP for Satellite Business. They planned in 2010 to initiate this proposal but till 2012, they were not able materialize the flights. Overtaking by competitors: As it is already mentioned, their competitors are stronger than them as their competitors are working in this industry from long time so they more knowledge and experience than them. For Example, SPACEX which is another Competitor of Virgin Galactic who was first to start to create reusable craft before Virgin Galactic. So in this matter, that company overtook Virgin Galactic (quartz, 2017). Time consuming to accomplish their mission: Although their industry growth is at high pace but still they are taking lot of time to provide services to their customers. For example, till now they have just made 2 spaceships named SS1 and SS2. So their processing time period is very long (geocities, 2016). Brand Portfolio: As it is already mentioned they have good brand image due to offering of wide variety of services. But this is not proved fruitful to them because this has made them less capable to focus on any particular service by which they are losing control on improving their services rather making these worse (swotanalysis24, 2017). Competitive market: As Space industry is highly risky and competitive so to compete with their competitors, they should have strong vision and long term strategies to hit them. But this is the negative point of Virgin Galactic; they are not competing well to their competitors. Bad Craft Structure: Although they are trying to provide better, improved and reliable services to their passenger but still they suffering from some problems. For example, the recent crash which was due to catastrophic failure happened because of poor structure of craft (advisor gate, 2016). 4.3 Opportunities Apart from considering strength and weakness of internal environment of company, company can grab opportunities of external environment to improve their performance. Following are list of areas where they can improve: Sustaining Brand Image: This Company can perpetuate brand image of their parent company by maintaining good competition with their competitors because this is the main area where they are lacking. So they should focus on this (cayenne, 2016). Employing New and Innovative Ways of doing Business: Although this company is on path of success but still they are slow in Research department. So till now they have just made 2 spaceships. So this is good opportunity for them to improve their performance by bringing more innovative ways of operating business (wixsite, 2017). First to market: As this company was first in market as comparison to its competitor. So it is great opportunity for them to make good reputation in market to attract customers. Growth Rate and Profitability: Although they are growing well with accordance to time, but they can utilize their opportunities to improve more as they can expand their product line. For example, apart from providing space sub orbital, small satellites and orbital human space flight, they can offer more services to their users to increase their growth level (swotanalysis24, 2017). Technology Advancement: As modern era is totally based on technology and this company is lacking in technology so they should new techniques in industry to make it more competitive (swotanalysis24, 2017). Expanding Global Markets: No Doubt, they started to operate at an international level and they should continue with this because this is an effective opportunity for them to maintain their image. On the other hand, they can also expand business through advertising in schools, universities which can enhance knowledge of students as well about orbit (advisorgate, 2016). 4.4 Threats In addition to grabbing opportunities of external environment, there can be some threats in every organization which can hinders them to get progress. Some of these are given below which can create problem for virgin galactic. So they should know these things in advance. Lacking interest of people due to crash:- Due to recent happened crash, company is losing interest of people as they are not trusting anymore on them and wanted to take back their money which they deposited while registering with them (the verge, 2017). I loved the book To Dance With The White Dog, by Terry Kay. When I first started reading, I was afraid this was going to be another depressing book about old people and I wasn't looking forward to reading it. However, I was soon taken in by the sweet, humorous Sam Peek and couldn't put down the book. I was moved by the strong love he had for his beloved wife Cora and even more so by his strength to carry on after her death. I think it was wonderful how Sam's family came together, even in the days after Cora's death, to look after him. I thought it was funny how his daughters worried about him and questioned his sanity at times while the whole time Sam knew exactly what they were thinking of him and how they fretted. I really enjoyed Neelie and even though she seemed to get on the children's nerves you could tell that having her there helped ease their minds. The children knew Neelie had their father's best interest at heart even if she did tend to nit pick and talk too much. I really envied the closeness of the Peek family and their love and concern, even if they did go a bit overboard at times. It was not only heartwarming, but truly amusing as well, in the way that Sam Peek dealt with them. He would play into their worries and concerns. Sam Peek went from being a pretty independent man to what appeared to his children as fragile, senile and helpless overnight with the death of Cora. From the moment his wife died Sam's ability to take care of himself immediately came into question, at least by ... ...of their lives. Unfortunately, that is not always possible due to financial reasons, failing health or lack of family to help out. Sam was lucky that his family lived close by and could look out for him. This enabled him to stay home until the very end and in essence probably prolonged his life. He was also lucky that he stayed pretty healthy for as long as he did. Many elderly people aren't so lucky and must totally rely on someone else to help them with their daily needs much like a toddler needs their mother. It is sad for many to lose their independence and even harder to have to rely on their children for care when they are the parent, but that's what families are for, to be there for one another. Our parents raised us to be who were are today and the least we can do in return is to be sure that they are given the best care possible in their old age.

Ict in Language Teaching
ICT IN LANGUAGE TEACHING Introduction: English is the dominant language of the Internet. A large proportion of the educational software produced in the world market is in English. For developing countries in the Asia-Pacific where English language proficiency is not high, this represents a serious barrier to maximizing the educational benefits of the World Wide Web. Icts In Language Teaching: Technology is in-built in language teaching. The latest technology available to the language teacher is the computer. Many examples of the use of ICTs can be introduced in language teaching. Here a few, ?Word processing Composing documents and presentations ?Information and communication ?Speech Recoginition And Synthesis ?Multimedia and languages ?E-learning ?Chatting ?Skype or Voip Service ?Online Teaching ?Web ââ¬âBased Learning Word processing: The most common application of ICT in languages is word processing, to create, for example, letters and other documents. Ability to use a word pr ocessor is necessary in todayââ¬â¢s society. Computer provides a better alternative for people using typewriters. There are clear advantages of using a word processor compared to the usual method of writing on paper or typing with a typewriter.Student should appreciate the use of a word processor and be encouraged to use it for most writing tasks. Teachers can create cloze reading tests like i. Texts with missing words ii. Words missing punctuation iii. Plural or tense endings iv. Arranging a story in chronological order v. Completing a story or vi. An outline for students to complete. Composing documents and presentations: Students can be taught to compose documents and make presentations. They can use texts and graphics in their presentations. They should know to convert data into appropriate graphics presentations. They should be able to produce simple web pages with text and graphics. Information and communication: In an information society, Students can get information quickl y from appropriate sources and they can exchage an information and collaborate speedily with others throughout the world. With the increasing use of the Internet, it is necessary that students have a clear but critical understanding of the possibilities of the World Wide Web. Students should know the various sources of information available to them and how to access these. There is considerable amount of information on the internet about writers and books; databases, reviews, opinions, and so on. This ready access will change the nature of language teaching because this information is so easy to access. Speech Recoginition And Synthesis: Students should be given the right software, so that they can compare their own pronunciations with those of a synthesized model, both orally and visually. Language laboratories are very useful in learning a foreign language. Multimedia and languages: Students can create their own multimedia software, to help in their learning of a foreign language.T hus Students can the language in a playful way. E-learning: E-learning is defined as an interactive learning in which the learning content is available online and provides automatic feedback to the students learning activities. Online communication with real people may or may not be included, but the focus of e-learning is usually more on the learning content than on communication between learners and tutors. E-learning could be viewed as an Online descendant of computerââ¬â based training(CBT) and computerââ¬â aided instruction (CAI). Goals and benefits of e-learning: . Improved performance: Higher education in Online learning is generally better than in face-to-face courses. 2. Increased access: Students can share their knowledge across borders, allowing students to across physical, political and economic boundaries. 3. Convenience and flexibility to learners: Learners are not bound to a specific day or time to physically attend classes. They can also pause learning sessio ns at their convenience. The high technology is not necessary for all Online courses. Basic internet access, audio and video capabilities are common requriments.Depending on the technology used, Students can begin their courses while at work and finish them at home on a different computer. 4. To develop the literacy skills and competencies needed in this present century: E-learning enables learners to develop the literacy skills knowledged- based workers by embedding the use of ICTââ¬â¢s within the curriculum. Chatting: Chatting is another great tool for Online Teaching, especially for a small virtual conference with one or a few students for a seminar. The audio and video components of some of the chat programs offer even more advantages.Students can use one of the free chat programs such as Yahoo messenger or MSN but they are often part of an Educational Delivery Application. Skype or Voip Service: The Online telephone services are great for teaching online language classes. A lot of online teachers use services like Skype but students often use their mobile phone so they can take a call anywhere. Online Teaching: Online teaching refers to the process of tutoring within an online virtual environment or networked environment where teachers and learners are separated by time and space. There are many terms for online education. Some of them are: 1. virtual education. 2. Internet- based education. 3. Web- based education. 4. Computer- mediated communication (CMC) Tutor is an academic, lecturer or professor who has responsibility for teaching in a degree or diploma programme in a university or vocational teaching and learning setting. In this instance the teacher requires excellent online communication skills to guide students who may study totally online without face- to- face contact with the tutor. It also focuses on achieving goals of independent learning, learner autonomy, self- reflection, knowledge construction, group based learning and discussion. It in volves five stages. They are, 1. Access and motivation 2. Online socialization 3. Information exchange 4. Knowledge construction 5. Development. Web ââ¬âBased Learning: Web ââ¬âBased Learning is associated with learning materials delivered in a Web browser, including the materials packaged on CD- ROM. Online learning is associated with content readily accessible on a computer. The content may be on the Web or the internet, or simply installed on a CD- ROM or the computer hard disk. Web ââ¬âBased Learning entails content in a Web browser and actual learning materials delivered in a Web format. In this, Web ââ¬âBased Learning is analogous to textbooks, where the content determines whether a book is a novel, a report, or a textbook. Simply offering computer -based training (CBT) for download from a Website is not Web ââ¬âBased Learning since there is no learning content in Web format. Web browsing the learning content is the key feature of Web ââ¬âBased Learning. Web ââ¬âBased Learning content is typically retrieved from a Website. For instance, some Web ââ¬âBased Learning offerings operate from CD- ROM and many are offered on dual format: Website and CD- ROM. The CD- ROM solution is typically associated with situations where network access may not be available or practical, like in schools lacking internet access or in the midst of a military conflict. Benefits of Web ââ¬âBased Learning: 1. Access is available anytime, anywhere, around the globe: Students access information whether they are working from home or from office. . Per-Student equipment costs are affordable: Almost any computer today equipped with a modem and free browser software can access the internet or a private intranet. The cost of set up is relatively low. 3. Student tracking is made easy: WBT enables the data to be automatically tracked on the server- computer. Thus students can easily implement the powerful Student tracking systems. 4. Content is easily upda ted: WBT is a simple matter of copying the updated files from a local developers computer onto the server- computer. The real disadvantage of WBT, is the lack of human contact, which greatly impacts learning. WBT is better than the CD- ROM learning in this regard. Students can use their Web connection to e-mail other students, post comments on message boards, or use chat rooms and videoconference links to communicate live. With higher speed connections and improved conferencing software, one day Students around the world will be able to communicate in real time with each other through full- screen video. Using Web- based training, like all other delivery media, has advantages and disadvantages. One of the greatest challenges in ICT use in education is balancing educational goals with economic realities. ICTs in education programs require large capital investments and developing countries need to be prudent in making decisions about what models if ICT use will be introduced and to be co nscious of maintaining economies of scale. CONCLUSION: Thus ICTs are a powerful and useful teaching tool in the hands of a resourceful teacher. ICTs help a learner in learning any aspect of language such as vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, composition, etc. It motivates learner to learn foreign language and literature.

How to Organize a Dorm Room
How to Organize a Dorm Room Given how ridiculously tiny the room might be, knowing how to organize a dorm room can be a challenge. So just what can you do to make the most of what space you do have? Dont have anything in the room that serves only one function. Sure, that plug-in grilled cheese maker seems cool, but it takes up a lot of space and can only do one thing. Make sure that every item in your room serves more than one function. For example, pick a speaker system for your iPhone that charges it at the same time. Use a throw on your bed that you can also take to football games when it gets cold outside. Youre paying a lot for that little room make sure your stuff is earning its keep, too! Think about the actual number of things youll really need at any time. Do you really need 20 highlighters? Or will 5 do? Let your campus bookstore be the one to keep things in stock; you can always run down there and get more of any supply (or borrow some from your roommate or friends down the hall). Split things with your roommate. Do you really need two printers? Two mini-fridges? Two MLA manuals? Of course, if sharing makes things get sticky, avoid this rule ... but, most likely, yo u and your roommate can make things work out by sharing some of the most important stuff. And you can save some sacred space (and cash) in the meantime. Avoid empty space. You probably have a duffel bag or suitcase for your trips home (or elsewhere). When you store them in your closet, dont store them empty. Put out-of-season clothes, big jackets, blankets, and anything else that will fit inside of them. Is there room under your bed? Buy storage boxes and cram in as much as you can. Youll still have your stuff accessible but no longer in the way. Aim for keeping things organized as often as you can. You may hear echoes of your mother in this rule, but its true: in a space that is especially small, keeping things organized will make the space seem larger. If youre pulling an all-nighter, getting everything off your desk except the stuff you need will help as your ability to focus starts to fade. If you like to read and study on your bed, being able to do so without having to fight for space with your laundry will make it easier on both your body and your brain.

Applying Theory to a Practice Problem of Nursing Essay
Applying Theory to a Practice Problem of Nursing - Essay Example Nursing has developed differently through the years, with the efforts of the theorists of the different nursing eras; they have helped turn it into a respectable and reputable profession. It cannot be questioned for it has been backed up the different nursing theories which helped carve what nursing practice is today. Providing care is one of the main responsibilities that a nurse has to give to a patient. In fact, nursing has almost come to be defined as synonymous to caring, because nurses include care into their daily interventions. Caring for people in the field of nursing involves the simplest of things. Indeed, listening attentively (and hearing the message between the words) to what patients say about themselves, about their environment, about their current situation, about matters concerning the mind, heart, and soul, and different other things are part of caring that is inherent in the nursing profession (Bernick, 2004). Caring in nursing also manifests itself in the simple aspects of therapeutic communication, in a touch that can transcend the barriers of age and race, and even in the nurseââ¬â¢s simple presence at the bedside, giving the patient the feeling of peace and security. This process of caring has been maintained for all these years by both contemporary and pioneer nurses. But with the appearance of technologies that can diagnose a patient without having to ask them any questions aother than their personal information and lessen the time of poking and proding, the idea of spending a quiet tim e with the patient has lost some touch to the nurses nowadays. The idea of saving time and alloting them to other chores rather than giving the patients the care that they needed runs within the nurseââ¬â¢s mind. Time spent with the patient decreases which means the care given to the patient also diminishes. The application of nursing theories actualy loses its touch on the nurse, without the nurse even noticing. Caring is one of the essential component of nursing, one they tend to overlook and disregard. To be unable to perform this task means that the nurse is not performing the responsibility placed upon their shoulders. The only time that nurses realize that providing more than the average activities and giving the caring needed not only improves the healing ability of the patient is through the presentation of evidences of improvement when they are given; one of which is presented by situations where the cases are treated with the application of the different theories develo ped through the years. This paper aims to determine the importance of application of theories on the everyday job of a nurse. How with the guidance of the theories developed years ago can improve the ability of a nurse to provide proper care for their patients. The application of nursing theories in practice has improved the nurseââ¬â¢s ability to provide for all the needs of the patient. Whether it be his physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual need; a nurse can help the patient with the proper application of a specific theory needed by the situation. The theories used in practice were identified and classified according to three general divisions: The grand theories, mid-range theories and the borrowed theories. Application of Grand theory to the Problem Nursing theory is an important aspect of nursing that
